Yelawolf's Roots

One of the least hyped stellar albums of 2010 is, no question, Yelawolf's Trunk Muzik 0-60. The album - which collects a bunch of the tracks from Yelawolf's stellar Trunk Muzik mixtape, ups the production value, and adds new tracks - is full of fantastic flows and nasty beats, with a Southern rap vibe that you won't hear quite so honestly without searching down some great names.

Recently, the always incredible YoursTru.ly filmed Yeller doing a stripped down take of one of Trunk Muzik/Trunk Muzik 0-60's best tracks, "Pop The Trunk." Before they even get to the song, though, Yelawolf revisits an old skatepark and talks about the desperation of the quasi-homeless skate life he lived. The intro is real and fascinating, and is worth the (free) price of admission alone.

Don't skip the video, and don't miss the trax. I've included the rare track "Deer Mama" from SMKA's The 808 Experiment Volume II just for you.
