Have you ever had this happen to you?
Step 1. Listen to a song enough that it gets really really stuck in your head, but don't pay attention to the song name/artist.
Step 2. Find yourself singing the song to yourself later and have literally ZERO idea where you know the song from, what song it is, what artist it is, or anything at all identifiable about it.
Step 3. Search through your 50 most recently played tracks to find the song.
Step 4. Rock out to the song non-stop.
No? Just me? Well it happens to me frequently. In fact, it happened to me just yesterday. I found myself singing the Karen O hook from this insanely catchy N.A.S.A. track as I walked down the street, without being able to identify where it was from. IDIOT.
This track, "Strange Enough," is typical N.A.S.A. fare in that it features about a billion guest spots and melts faces. The original is off of their debut album Spirit of Apollo, but I somehow overlooked it the first time around. This Mr. Oizo remix is fantastic, and it's all over my playcounts these days.
Another song that I've been sleeping on for a while is the first single from Eyedea and Abilities latest By The Throat. "Sleeping on" isn't exactly the right word for it - it's more that I just haven't found the right moment to post it up. But it's got a pretty sick industrial-ish crunky beat, and I really like Eyedea's phlow. Reminds me a little of Saul Williams' "List of Demands (Reparations)" which is to say that it's pretty much unstoppable.
