Lupe Fiasco dropped a mixtape last week – Enemy of the State – and it’s pretty dope. “The National Anthem” samples Radiohead pretty nicely, and the kick-off track “All The Way Turnt Up” is pretty baller. The track that really caught my attention, though, is “Fireman (Yoga Flame)”.
One “Fireman (Yoga Flame),” Lupe spits over the beat from Lil Wayne’s “Fireman,” mixing it in with an old school streetfighter Yoga Flame. The beat is hot (ha), Lupe’s verses are pretty slick (and almost Wayne-ish), and the Yoga Flame sample takes the hype to the next level (although I could use more). I really dig it.

Listening to the Lupe cut reminded me of the Dizzee Rascal freestyle that he dropped on top of the “Fireman” beat a year or two back. Still fly, I love Dizzee’s flow. And for good measure, let’s toss up that A-Trak remix of the original.
