After listening to Passion Pit's most recent song to hit the internets - "The Reeling" - I trundled over to their myspace to check out their tour dates. Double win - I got tickets to see them again in June, and I found a delightful video insight into their recording sessions for their debut LP, Manners.
Pretty cool video - we get to see frontman Michael Angelakos hanging out with an NYC Public School chorus, hear some snippets of the new album, and generally get psyched up about how utterly dope this record is going to be. Cool quote from Angelakos about emulating a children's choir with "Sleepyhead", cool quote from producer Chris Zane about using tons of handbells on the album, awesome shot of Angelakos having a one on one with a kid who is probably 10 years old. The more I watch this video, the more I love it.
In honor of the in-studio video, here are a couple of in-studio performances that Passion Pit did for WOXY.com - they capture Passion Pit's reckless emotion in concert pretty well. All the live energy with studio quality sound is hard to beat. I will never get tired of the hits in Sleepyhead.
