So 2009 is upon us. What will it hold in store for our intrepid bloggers as they confront the harsh realities of graduate school applications and a fickle economic landscape? Unfortunately we do not have a clairvoyant here at TSRE, so all we can offer is our best wishes for the upcoming year, both musically and personally.
Devoted fan X and I rang in the New Year at Great Scott in Allston, MA with young-guns-who-now-seem-like-veterans Passion Pit and actual upstarts Giantess. Giantess kicked off the night and despite the short set and slightly overused sound, put on a fun show. Passion Pit came onstage just after midnight to a raucous crowd and kicked into a frenzied set that pounded through all their EP songs as well as a couple of new ones from their upcoming LP expected in early 2009. Passion Pit or Passion Fruit as we like to say around here, closed out the party by inviting everyone onstage for Sleepyhead that brought the house down. Great job on a great night guys.
