I caught this track over at the fantastic Naïve Harmonies’ Fine Tune Friday last week, and I can’t get enough of it. It’s a granola track from Akron/Family, a group I’ve never gotten up the mind to check out. I think I was always a little intimidated by the slash in their name. Seems like a lot to handle.Foolish, clearly. This track is wonderful – a folksy melody draped over a hand-shaker and simple percussion backdrop. Great lyrics, a smooth set of pipes, and a track that I keep coming back to. Set ‘em wild, set ‘em free indeed.
Gotta get my hands on some more Akron/Family. Apparently there’s a new album coming out in October – anyone have any suggestions for back catalogue in the meantime?

Thanks for the link love, and especially for the umlaut. We'll have to get that in there somehow.
I'll be curious to hear what you think of their earlier record. I thought it was a little too bizarre, but maybe I should go back and check it out. I do love "River".
